I have never worked for a company that didn’t pay me wages when I was out for any reason, including family situations. It wasn’t policy, but it’s how you keep the employees you want to retain. If you are a marginal employee that makes problems, don’t expect anything other than to the letter policy which doesn’t have to pay you squat.
