The "article" is from ScienceAlert,

a modern media pop-science rag

which describes itself as

“ScienceAlert features cool and interesting science news and entertainment worth sharing.”

The Author of this article has ZERO background in any type of science. She is a free lance writer hacking out a living.

Perhaps you should read the article you posted.

It says

"This conclusion is supported by published studies showing that caffeinated drinks (and, to a lesser extent, mild alcoholic beverages like beer in moderation) may indeed be counted toward the daily total,"

My comment was

“The halfwit “scientists” don’t know that caffeinated drinks DEHYDRATE you.”
