Audie Murphy loved the army - he got plenty of fresh, good food when he had grown up in an (if memory is right) abandoned railway car with only jam and bread to eat. Truly, the poorest of the Depression poor.

Audie Murphy was a farm boy and lived in a farm house and ate about the same as most farm people.

You know, that is a mighty good point. I’ve never been hungry. I mean, I’ve been hungry and then I went to the fridge and made a sammich.

I never been hungry like my daddy’s daddy. But this old world ain’t through with me yet, I’ll get back to ya :)
