I don’t know the percentages but most of these kids grew up in broken homes.
Would you want to get married if you knew it would end up in a divorce?
I know so many kids in my area who have step parents. It’s a shame.

My husband is not part of the norm in that respect, and I’m blessed for it.

His parents were divorced when he was a child. His stepfather was a difficult man when he and his siblings were young...it was not pleasant. My husband’s father moved away, remarried, and for some reason decided he never wanted to see his biologicai children again.

Statistically, I guess my guy wasn’t a good bet for marriage, but he was firm that he intended to do it with the right person, and only once. He was adamantly against divorce...for him (and me), when you take those vows, it’s for life.

It’s been nineteen years, and he makes me very happy.
