Trump is the only potential Presidential candidate I have seen, who is for American jobs.

The only one.

Trump is very pro-American. More than any recent president.

Thank you Donald for saying, what so many of us are thinking. You will be a fine president.

You've got my vote.

The bigger question, should American companies that make stuff (anything) out of the country be prohibited from importing it back into this country? Would that drive the companies themselves out? would that artificially drive up the cost because of higher labor costs? It certainly would put more people to work, more demand, but that would drive up the price of labor too.

He’s pretty good for jobs in Bangladesh, too. If he does what he does instead of what he says, the cost of stuff we buy is low, and we can afford more stuff, maybe it really will help create jobs in America, as well.

I would boycott any airline that buys a Chinese Boeing.

Businesses are meant to try and make profits. Perhaps more businesses should leave America and set up in China.

I assume that Trump will get 99% support for his “No Boeing Factories in China” view here on FR.

I like Trump but I’m part of the 1% who thinks that we should’t have the Federal Government telling companies like Boeing how to run their business. It’s the libertarian in me I guess. It just feels wrong.

I also believe that people fail to look at the consumer side of the equation in cases like this. It true that if you punish Boeing for setting up a factory in China and force them to do more of their manufacturing in the U.S. that you will create more U.S. jobs. There is no disputing that.

But that process raises the price of airplanes that are bought by American airline companies. When you fly your ticket price is going to be higher because of that. And Boeing is going to be less competitive with their European competition because of those higher prices. How many contracts does Boeing have to lose before the gain in employment in the U.S. is wiped out completely?

Bottom line: You have to look at the total impact of letting the government rather than Boeing decide how to run Boeing. For me, the less government the better.

Boeing announced on Wednesday a deal to sell China 300 new aircraft. It is also expected to unveil an agreement to open a new facility there that would finish and deliver 737s built at Boeing's factory in Renton, Washington.

Not clear how many of US built 737s are to be finished in China: only the 300 China will buy, all 737s for the Asia market, or ALL 737s built by Boeing.

This article calls the Boeing plant for China a finishing plant. Other articles call it an assembly plant.

I have a problem with the idea, too.

I want to always know when I’m on a US versus Chinese built airliner.

only an economic neophyte would think building 300 planes in the US - and finishing them elsewhere....is hurting American jobs. Then again, consider the source.

Trump is not happy with Boeing's plans to open a factory in China

And here I thought a foundational element of conservatism was LIMITED GOVERNMENT. Please educate me where in the Constitution such Government intrusion into the business affairs of a corporation resides.

China is trying to develop domestic airplane manufacturing to compete with Airbus and Boeing. Having Boeing build facilities in China will help that happen. They do the same thing with other products. For example, China required the same type of deals with passenger trains. They stole the technology and are now competing with the companies that sold China the rope to hang themselves.

I wouldn't be surprised that most of the offshoring is done by liberal Democrat voting CEOs.
