Well, there are lots of creeks and springs (esp when it rains) so there is plenty of H2O. There is a spring above me that provides water to about eight families.
The game might be a problem ie eventually game will be gone from the killing.
Re an alliance. No. But I wonder if the neighbors who are all related do have an alliance. We have not talked about it. But i think it is smart to do what u say: cut off the road. I will remember that if I am alive when things start falling apart. The neighbors lived off the land just fifty yrs ago. They are true Americans and we love each other because of similar values. We help each other now, and have formed a strong bond. That’s good because I am alone.
I don't think you want to do that a quarter mile from home. I think that's something for five or more miles from home (if it hasn't been done even farther away). I don't see feral youths getting very far in a SHTF situation. I see them turning inward on their own neighborhoods and eventually adjacent neighborhoods, and roads out are blocked by cars with no gas or by accidents long before the ferals even consider looking outside their comfort zone.
