hope you feel better. have had the cold since friday but now just sound worse than i feel. it is truly a gorgeous day here, 73 degrees, beautiful breeze and sunny cloudless sky. God is smiling on the day, if not the subject matter being discussed.

This one, too.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/pope-franciss-fact-free-flamboyance/2015/09/18/7d711750-5d6a-11e5-8e9e-dce8a2a2a679_story.html

The saint who is Francis’s namesake supposedly lived in sweet harmony with nature. For most of mankind, however, nature has been, and remains, scarcity, disease and natural — note the adjective — disasters. Our flourishing requires affordable, abundant energy for the production of everything from food to pharmaceuticals. Poverty has probably decreased more in the past two centuries than in the preceding three millennia because of industrialization powered by fossil fuels. Only economic growth has ever produced broad amelioration of poverty, and since growth began in the late 18th century, it has depended on such fuels.

An interesting perspective. Jesuits are typically renowned for their scholarship and erudition. Of late, however, they have fallen prey to the Marxist temptation of ideology before reason. PF seems to be one of these. He is, doubtless, enamored of his opinions. That his political, economic and scientific opinions are without merit seems not to trouble him.

For a worthy insight I bestow upon you:

He is a product of the environment he grew up in. Which is why “provincial” is the exact right word.

I responded with mirth, or is that not allowed?

I figured it was easier and funner than saying I wasn’t even talking to you and I reject your premise.

Agreed. As such he is victimized by the collectivism of his home world. He has no respect for the authority of the individual, only the power of the ruling authority. Hence his shameful obeisance to the Castros and the Obama regime.

I believe you guys are reading more into the celebration of the Donald than is merited. He has shaken the pol est to its roots. More than any other single objective this needed to happen. The struggle is not yet ended. The uniparty is still in control.
I am firmly convinced that Cruz is intellectually guiding Trump. Trump is a bull in a china shop. The shop desperately needs the destruction he is wreaking. Give him his day and his due. He is no demon such as is now in control. Perhaps he is a dragon slayer. We can only hope.

i don’t believe i am reading into anything nor do i believe that anything is yet decided. my comments are directed, as i believe the soother’s are, towards the Trump supporters who attack anyone as a RINO or Jeb-supporter, who doesn’t bow down to their favored candidate. Motives are maligned, intellect questioned etc. i have no idea WHAT he is, i suppose time will tell.

There is substantial misrepresentation on both sides of this squabble.

Yet no one on this thread was doing anything like that. I can’t speak for any of the behaviors that happen on the outside.

He was like the wife who brings up something from two years ago about which to be mad.

I'm more worried about the puppy under the seat o’ plenty.

That which you NEED to change you must first expose as needing change.

I don’y think Trump is the best candidate at all, nor is he going to become “miraculously” viable if he gets every first place vote in every primary: It would be “fun” seeing how the GROPe elites find a way to fight their own candidate at their own convention though.

But he is, right now, the best lightening rod to destroy their clamp on funding and their “expected and annointed” process like Hubert Bush, Bob Dole, George Bush, McCain and Romney. THAT self-selection inner-sanctum MUST be destroyed before Jindal or Cruz can break through.

During the course of the funeral events, I encountered plenty of Hillary voters shocked Trump. Trump would be a disaster for us if their insight is true. Scary.

I attended a funeral today and at the luncheon afterwards I sat at a table with our Deacon and our Priest. I bit my tongue and said not a word when the topic veered off to Pope Frank’s visit. Don’t need to know the local station for 24/7 coverage. I must have earned my angel wings with that effort.
