So... you say "significant numbers" is 1.

Show me an example of Microsoft (or anyone else) releasing a software update that doesn't mess up a single device.

In the meantime, I still haven't heard any actual data about how many users have been affected. Glancing through the comments in this thread, I see only successful updates. Presumably if this were a major problem, at least one Freeper would have been hit.
