In all of these incidents about restaurants or coffee shops refusing to serve law enforcement or use their bathrooms, it always transpires that some individual employee took it upon himself or herself to refuse to serve the officers, and the chain immediately apologizes and declares that they will make sure it doesn't happen again.

In the current toxic atmosphere, it'd be better if these large chains pre-empted such nonsense by making it clear to their employees that refusing to serve police officers will be grounds for dismissal.
