Stewart says there will be "a lot of changes" to his team: #14-Tony Stewart says that there will be "a lot of changes" to his team after this season following another disappointing year. Stewart would not reveal what the changes would be - "I think you'll have that answer soon enough,'' he said - but changes are expected in personnel, including with crew chief Chad Johnston. Stewart enters Sunday's season finale 28th in the points. It would be his worst career finish in a season he ran the entire schedule. The three-time series champion has not finished better than 25th in the points in each of the past three seasons. "There's got to be a lot of change,'' Stewart said Thursday at the Championship 4 Media Day. "It's not like we were a 15th-place car all year. We haven't even been close to that.''(

Three cars for Furniture Row? Furniture Row Racing [#78-Martin Truex Jr.] has big changes on the horizon, with a manufacturer move from Chevrolet to Toyota coming in 2016 and an expansion to two cars coming in 2017. The team may not be done at two teams, either. During Thursday's live chat with Miss Sprint Cup Madison Martin, Furniture Row Racing general manager Joe Garone answered a fan question of where he saw his team in five years. "I see three race teams, with a super strong relationship with Joe Gibbs Racing," Garone replied.(NASCAR.com)(11-20-2015)

Joe Gibbs also met with Brian France; talked to Penske: Joe Gibbs said NASCAR chairman Brian France came to the race shop on Monday to meet with both suspended driver Matt Kenseth and then the team owner. The meetings were separate and done in advance of Kenseth's return to the track this weekend. Kenseth was suspended two races for intentionally wrecking Joey Logano in retaliation. The payback ultimately cost Logano a spot in Sunday's finale. "We had good meetings, I think we're all in a good place right now," Gibbs said. "I think Matt is, too. I appreciated getting the chance to meet with Brian and I think Matt did, too." Gibbs also said he and Roger Penske had a pair of phone conversations as the feud between Kenseth and Logano brewed. He said Penske called him after Logano spun Kenseth at Kansas, and Gibbs called Penske after Kenseth wrecked Logano at Martinsville. "I think we really get along with each other," Gibbs said. "The things we kind of talk about it are between us."(
