They were going to be bigger than the Beatles...ahem...
I was a freshman in high school the year they hit it big in America. I remember all the girls going nuts over them. They called it "Rollermania". Four about four months that was all you heard about. The school was half empty the day they rolled into Boston for a concert. Then suddenly, they were gone from the scene and somebody named Shaun Cassidy became the next teen idol.
Nice memory from the 1970s however. I had almost forgotten all about them. Other than "Saturday Night", I have a hard time coming up with another song by them without going to Google.
To be fair, the fandom in the UK was insane at the time, the most fanatical since the Fab Four. Only the fandom for T-Rex, Slade and David Essex came close in the 70s.
