A picture is worth...
“Because it is too hot and dry and there is too much accumulated fuel?
I think you mean what started it. They havent said. It is usually days or weeks before they do. All of the recent fires have been vehicles, hot water heater. mowing, etc. The last several days has been 100 plus. The humidity is in mid single digits. That whole area has really been waiting for this.”
Too many land owners don’t mow their weeds/green growth until they are warned by the local fire safety officials in late May to mow their land. Then they wait until summer or later to mow their land. The mowers or tractors hit a rock causing sparks and a fire.
We had a rectum do that three years in a row and cause some serious problems. This year apparently some neighbors told him the next fire he caused, he would be in a wiener roast.
He mowed while it was still green and no fire.
“ON the Twitter posted on the site there are two Arabs communicating in Arabic.”
You might consider turning this into the FBI. I don’t tweet nor twitter.
“If you wanted to do a real terrorist act, I could think of more effective places than lake County, CA. A lot of dope growers through that area. An earlier fire near there this year had firefighters reporting 100s of marijuana grows.”
These mj plantations are often planted and cultivated by illegals. They use and suck up the water around their illegal mj farms. The area around them becomes dry and arid like a desert and burn like gunpowder.

New Evacuations ordered on the #ValleyFire in Lake County. Point Lakeview to Soda Bay (Hwy 281) is now under a mandatory evacuation.
Damn
Sad for him, but good that they got out. I have a friend in Lake County. He spent several decades accumulating car parts and memorabilia for his business restoring vintage cars. No way he'd be able to move a fraction of it, many dozens of vintage cars, hundreds of car body parts. I hope he's okay. His property is nestled among many large trees in a forest. Also have a sister in Sonoma in the forested hills. Very pretty place to live, but scary if a fire comes in.

#ValleyFire now 50,000 acres per CalFire. Lake Co. OES: unprecedented fire behavior still 0% containment, spreading in all directions #ABC10
Per Calfire, the fire is creating it’s own weather, expanding in all directions, and not reacting to the wind.
Per the Scanner, sending a team “up to the Geysers”.
Would that be the incredibly expensive boondoggle called Geyser’s Geothermal Powerplant??

#CalFire says 1000+ homes lost.
Wow, will keep an ear out.
http://www.geysers.com/geothermal.aspx
The Geysers, comprising 45 square miles along the Sonoma and Lake County border, is the largest complex of geothermal power plants in the world. Calpine, the largest geothermal power producer in the U.S., owns and operates 14 power plants at The Geysers with a net generating capacity of about 725 megawatts of electricity - enough to power 725,000 homes, or a city the size of San Francisco.

UPDATE 3:15 p.m. VALLEY FIRE
In just over 24 hours the Valley Fire has burned about 50,000 acres without any containment and forced the evacuation of more than 10,000 people - mainly in southern Lake County. That information was given Sunday afternoon at a meeting at Kelseyville High School with a variety of fire, law and government officials and about 250 people. Cal Fire spokesman Todd Derum told the audience the fire is pushing ahead in all directions, including southeast into The Geysers in Sonoma County... (more at link)
