I was named after my dog who was named Twinkie. I found her when she was a puppy, abandoned at a garbage bin. She had mange and no hair on her body; but her eyes still “twinkled” - so I named her Twinkie. (Honestly, I couldn’t really tell if she really was a dog. I was already headed into town, so I dropped her off at our vets and told them I didn’t even know if she was a dog or not, but to treat her. - So, she got all fixed up and lived to be well over 16 yrs. old or older.)
