Oh heck yes and Vivien Leigh was amazing beautiful in that film.

Weird, it’s the anniversary of September 11th 2001. You know what was on Channel 4 television channel that day? The afternoon film had started at 2pm, and mid-way through the film, they interrupted the broadcast for a newsflash to say that the second plane had hit the second tower at the WTC.

The film that was interrupted? “That Hamilton Woman” with Vivien Leigh and Laurence Olivier.

Whoa... How strange...

My friend had all three of the kids in school for the first time. She was alone, got lonesome and called; talked to my Mom, as I was still asleep. I remember my Mom, rushing into my room, phone in hand, yelling, "We're under seige! We're under siege!" I was still half asleep and went into the living room and there it was. I couldn't wrap my mind around it, I kept expecting it to be like Orson Welles' "War of the Worlds" broadcast, and Bruce Willis would jump out and everything would be OK. Slowly it began to sink in my mind... We called everyone we knew and tried to find out if they were all OK... no one we knew anywhere had been injured. That still didn't make up for what happened... I thank God for President Bush and his administration.

At the top of the page you’re looking at now you will find hypertext links labeled:
"Free Republic”

“Browse”

“Search”

“Pings”

“Mail”

General/Chat

“Topics” and,

"Post Article”

You must have clicked, “Post Article” in order to have started this thread. Since you say you haven’t found “Mail” before, and since I know I sent you a “FReepmail,” as it’s often called here, I presume that you will notice that “Mail” is not blue but red, signifying the existence of mail to you which you have not seen. If you click on that, you’ll see where you can read my mail to you. The message I sent you will of course look a lot like gibberish, since it is a list of screen names each followed by a semicolon.

Any “REPLY” addressed to you (such as this one) will cause the “Pings” label I alluded to above to be red rather than blue. It was because my “Pings” label was red that I knew to click on it, and upon doing so learned that you had replied to me.

Thus, if you should choose to respond to all the people who posted on your thread (up to the time I composed the list) you can paste the contents of my mail into the “To:” box on the Reply page. [Note that by default you will be “replying” to some screen name or other, perhaps mine, as well as those in my list. Either delete that one, or follow it by a semicolon (as instructed above the “To:” box) before you click “Post” - or you will get a complaint that the first addressee name in your list is invalid].

The entire point of the list of addressees is that everyone whose screen name is listed be alerted to the fact that you have addressed them. That happens by the fact that their “Pings” header turns red.

Welcome! While we pray for Christ's church spread throughout the world each day, we have added a special emphasis for the Christians in Europe that are under assault. We pray that we all can hold on tightly to the gifts and promises of our Lord, regardless of situations and circumstances!

Know that you and yours are included in prayer each day!

I’ll take this opportunity to say this. I only joined last night, I’ve been overwhelmed by the kindness shown me. I feel I could have found a welcoming home to express my opinions and sadly my fears during this dark period in history.

A word about HTML.
  1. You don’t have to use it

  2. If you should become envious of people who do even so simple a thing as using italics, it isn’t hard.

  3. If you do use HTML, you will start simple and gradually learn things.

  4. HOWEVER, if you do use HTML it becomes necessary to use <br> every time you want a line feed, and <p> every time you want a new paragraph (I risk lecturing to someone who knows more than I about it, but . . .). Should you chose to adopt HTML use, that discipline must be adhered to or the result will be a messy post.

In the old days, HTML was mandatory here - and at that, the HTML parser used by Free Republic was not as sophisticated as it is now, and a simple slip-up by one poster would propagate into embarrassing effects on the results of succeeding posters. That is no longer seen. Again, you don’t have to use HTML - but avoid using the < symbol in your post if you do not intend to use HTML.

As a practical matter, that is the burden of the "(HTML auto-detected, see help for more information)” message above the Your Reply: box.

Thank you, Joe, for posting Lucy's detailed message. Lucy's writes: "This is a planned invasion, Jihad by immigration, the Koran tells them to do it..."

Lucy, one of the most popular, conservative radio talk show hosts in the US is Rush Limbaugh. He airs live, Monday through Friday, between Noon and 3pm Eastern Standard Time. I mention this because today, he addressed precisely this issue and cited the Daily Mail as his source. He writes:

This is seven months ago.  I'm just reading the story to you.  The UK Daily Mail has an interesting format.  They have four, five, six bullet points from the story, which are essentially pull quotes or highlights.  And then they do the body of the story with about 1,000 pictures.  So you have to weed out the pictures, get rid of them to get to the text.  But here are the bullet points.  Under the headline, "ISIS Threatens to Send 500,000 Migrants to Europe as a 'Psychological Weapon.'"

This is seven months ago, and it's happening!  Now we're being led to believe it's because of war-torn strife or thirst, hunger, civil war in Syria.  No!  It is a plan.  We all understand this, and that's why all of this is inexplicable when we look at people who ought to be alarmed at this -- they ought to be opposed to it, they ought to be afraid of it -- embracing it?  It doesn't make any sense!  Well, again, I need to qualify that.  There is a reason all this is happening.
Red the entire transcript

If it's any consolation, there are voices speaking out in the US, for the most part from conservative talk shows.

It is worth noting that, be it in the UK, France, Italy, Denmark, Canada, the US wherever, Muslims are a tribal people who do not integrate into society. They do not adopt the customs of the country, despite raising their children in state schools. The greater problem faced by all European nations, is that Muslims reproduce like rabbits. Within a few generations, these immigrants will take over the countries that have welcomed them. FWIU, most European countries will become Islamic and lose their identities. How Europe is slowly dying despite an increasing world population

Many parts of London are entirely black and no-go areas for whites. Brixton and Hackney being the most dangerous for whites.

Central London, just walk down any major street, you’ll witness 50 blacks for every 1 white.

The Midlands, huge parts of it’s cities almost 80% Muslim for years, Birmingham, Wolverhampton especially. Ironically this was the region that Enoch Powell represented, which would be hilarious were it not so tragic.

This year alone, West Midlands police have reported 600 more cases of the EVIL Female Genital Mutilation in Birmingham.

This Satanic practice is banned under UK and EU law, but what the heck, you can’t arrest the devils because, well, that’d be racist obviously.

There’s no hope.

Oh my I’m so sorry! My son who is in the Navy was assigned to the U.S. Embassy in London. He had a great garden apartment, only a block from Abbey Lane. The Actor Jude Law lived nearby. Sometimes he would see him walking on the street. It was a beautiful area. But once you walked down to the local Tube station things started to get dicey! My Grand son was born in London in the same hospital that so many of the Royals had. Lol

I’ve heard of Rush Limbaugh, I’ll try and listen to him on Monday.

You know that article, the message about ISIS threatening to flood Europe with 500,000 “refugees” and hide their psychopaths amongst them?

We’ve known about that for months because since threat issued, the MSM were screaming about it.

Now it’s ACTUALLY happening, the same MSM, totally SILENT about it and encouraging MORE to get to Europe.

Absolute traitors all of them....I’m just hoping Europe has enough lamp-posts to lynch them all from when the you-know-what hits the fan.

Heck we could have a French Revolution moment, complete with pitchforks!

He has a web site which allows him to be heard. My membership to it recently lapsed, but if I am correct you can hear the program when it is live without a membership. Certainly one can hear it later, if you have a membership - but it’s certainly not free.

:) Color me red, but you just showed me a more efficient way to do something I'd been doing for years! (I'd been doing < br >< br > [extra soaces inserted for display purposes] for a new paragraph; I actually *knew* about < p >, but I never connected the dots, so to speak!) Thanks!

BTW: how did you display the actual keystrokes for the commands, without them actually "engaging" as HTML?

There are some characters that are special in HTML, like the left and right angle brackets <> and a few others. Obviously there has to be a way to render those characters on a page. This is done with another pair of special characters, the ampersand and semicolon ( & ; ). These are used as delimiters for either a numeric value or a short and specific reference to the character desired. See http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_entities.asp for a more complete treatment.

It could easily be stopped.

Greece and Bulgaria need to put their militraies on their border with Turkey. France, Italy and the UK need to patrol the Mediterranean sea. Europe should repatriate any illegal immigrate found on European soil. Problem solved.

I generally agree with your assessment. Eastern Europe will close their borders and there is nothing the EC can do about that. Then things get interesting. I am waiting for Greece to close it’s borders. That, in my mind, triggers when things go out of control. What will Turkey do when hundred of thousands of “refugees” are trapped on Turkeys coast? Will Russia step in to protect the Slavs in the Balkans? Putin would just love to “pay back” the West for Kosovo. Will Muslims already in Europe wage and underground war against a anti-islamic civil authority? I think the shooting starts when Greece takes action to protect Greeks. With Germany closing its’ borders that puts a lot of pressure on Austria, Italy and Greece to do the same.
