Yeah, potentially dangerous pets are a problem. It’s like most wild animals, we’d like to think they would understand and love us back, but they’re wild beasts. It in their nature.
I am like that with my mother-in-law’s drunk boyfriend. If he is around, my kids don’t go over. Guess which she chose.
My parents’ accidentally got a pit mix from the shelter. (They were lied to about the breed). She is actually a very sweet dog (traits are much like the other mix), but I could not believe they would lie about the breed to potential adopters.
Good on you for getting your child out of that very dangerous situation.
ROFL very good.
Carry weapons with you at all times.
You never know when you are going to need one.
Pepper spray, baton, knife and a gun if you are licensed to, which I am not.
Do not make yourself look like a weak and inviting target. Not to pit bulls or any other similar aggressive feral creature.
If you feel threatened, take action.
That is all.
“Ya know, it was like so weird. The never did that before. I just don’t get it.”

Excellent. Chuckling.
i went for a run on a trail in a local canyon yesterday. about a mile up I came upon what appeared to me to be a large pit bull (or similar breed) unattended on the trail.
it approached me as I passed but fortunately seemed to have a good disposition. then I heard it’s out-of-sight owner say the words “he/she/it won’t bite”. I almost laughed because it’s so predictable and I’ve heard it so many times from irresponsible dog owners.
I yelled back at the guy “that’s what they all say” and let him know that if his dog had bit me I would have sued his a$$.
and the canyon has recently been posted “No Guns”. not like I want to run with my pistol anyway.
Indubitably. We don’t allow tigers to roam free rein do we?
EXTERMINATE THE BREED. NO MORE PIT BULLS, EXCEPT FOR ZOOS OR ALONG THE SOUTHERN BORDER!
NOBODY ever has the need to carry a gun.
Right??
Riiiight........?
Thank God he gave you the sense to understand the situation. Most people don’t have a clue.
A can of WD40 with the red straw and a lighter works wonders. LOL
I don’t blame you a bit. If she couldn’t be trusted on the dog issue what other of your wishes would she have ignored. No second chances with babies.
“I hope that the dead man and the injured women realize it isn’t the pit bulls fault. (sarc) “
I keep dogs the size of lions (mastiffs) , none of them are alpha dogs .
I am the leader of the pack , not the dogs and I have never had to mistreat any of them to get them to behave this way.
Most people can not do this , are not capable of doing this and SHOULD NOT keep these type dogs . It is how you raise them and how they have been bred .
I don’t like pits , it’s the terrier instinct in the pit I don’t like .
Most people who buy them buy them for all the wrong reasons
That said black pits have been bred a lot more carefully than any of the others and are much better dogs
I agree. They shouldn’t lie on an important issue like that.
I’m not convinced that all these dogs act out before an issue like this comes up.
Sometimes I think the owners are horrified when the dogs snap. Others seem to like training them to be evil, so I don’t give all owners a pass.
Seemed a 1+1=2 situation for me.
I appreciate your note of agreement.
Thanks Karl.
