I thought the series began to go downhill when they introduced too much humor into stories about a spy with an 007 license to kill.

There is nothing funny about the real game of intelligence and the practitioners in operations are not chosen for their ability to crack one-liners. A funny spy is an oxymoron.

The producers and Craig brought back the edgy Bond that the author, Ian Fleming, originally intended in his books.

I disagree. There is nothing remotely Fleming about the Craig-era movies.
