Yes, Rush and Donald have big egos and so does Obama

Rush's ego makes us laugh. But, I know at least I see the success he's achieved and feel he's done an excellent job of backing it up.

Obama's ego works to our disadvantage because it comes from a very different place. A very anti-American place. Obama starts with the premise that America does not deserve the blessings she has earned. That we are not exceptional when compared to other nations. That we owe a LOT of apologies for our actions. His ego, then, forces him to stick to these beliefs as the country crumbles around him.

Trump's ego is on a different end of the spectrum. Going around saying we should be proud to be Americans. That people who come to this country should speak English if they want to be successful (the horror). That we are a nation of laws, and those laws should be enforced (there goes the Hispanic vote). That we should not let other nations push us around when making deals. Therefore, if his ego forces him to stick to these beliefs, WE have the advantage.

I know that with everything else you said in that post, you don't care much about the Hispanic vote, but I have to spout off anyway, for the purpose of educating others...

...YEAH, SO WHAT?! Who cares about the Hispanic vote? Republicans shouldn't - most of it is in states where it doesn't matter, one way or the other. California, Texas, New Mexico, New York and New Jersey are definitely in one column or another, REGARDLESS of whether the Republicans get 0% or 100% of the Hispanic vote. Since so many Hispanics live in just those 5 states, the effect of the votes of the rest of them is negligible. Romney would have had to increase his share of the Hispanic vote from 27% to 71% to win in 2012 - but would only have needed 4% or so more of the white vote to win. Which one makes more sense to go after?

You’re right. Trump never says he’s a really, really rich guy. He never says he’s a really, really smart guy. He has a real Christian humility. He never says that people who don’t agree with him are stupid or losers. I think he’s got the type of humility that makes him understand that the US Presidency is a dignified position. He has that y and decency and that has helped him raise up his three foreign trophy wives. These things prove that he is just one of us regular conservatives.
