Grandbaby and I just heard the latest flumadiddle from pope Frank. How is this news/different? Priests since the time of Christ have been empowered to forgive ANY sin, no matter how heinous, if there is true repentance. How is he conferring anything they weren’t already able to do?
It isn’t.
That said, I commented to some people on Twitter taking great offense to this. Believe it or not, repentance and forgiveness is our thing.
Just had that same discussion after mass with another Catholic. The Pope is a foolish lightweight and so are all the reporters reporting on this. His visit will drive me nuts, I fear.
