He’s going to be on 20/20?? I have since read that he’s doing away with the requirement of getting a bishop to approve the absolution. I wasn’t aware of that requirement but it seems unnecessary to me. Priests should be able to ascertain sincere repentance and give absolution regardless of the sin, IMO.

Bishops could always delegate, or set up programs like Project Rachel for this purpose.

I do see a difference between consumers of abortion (often young, ignorant, scared, coerced) and providers. The latter should have more scrutiny, but again it’s not unforgivable if repentance is there.
