Cute story with a tasty ending for a predator. Most likely an owl or raptor of some sort.

I had a coworker who lost a Yorkie that way. You could still hear the Yorkie yelping as it flew off with it.

I once saw a hawk flying over me with a squirrel in its grips. It had the critter facing forward. I’m guessing it was for the same of aerodynamics.
