A large pickle jar right now...probably a half gallon size, maybe bigger (think Costco size). I worry about the metal cap rusting and should find something better. I also printed off the instructions and taped them to the side of the jar.

I’ll just check the lid periodically.
I have some of those white lids for mason jars to put on after removing the canning lid. But I’m sure they are not airtight.
