We have a Golden and four Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, all have great dispositions. I have only heard the Golden growl one time. Our grown daughter came home to visit and walked in the door without knocking. She beat a hasty retreat back out the door until her father got there and let her in. We had always wondered what the Golden would do if an intruder came in the house. He has such a passive nature and is very gentle. When she came back in and he realized he knew her, he seemed embarrassed. BTW the Golden is hers, he is just staying with us until she finds a bigger place to live.
As for the Cavs, they would be worthless for protection. Love sponges and couch potatoes. lol
You might be surprised.
One of my Ibizan Hounds, a breed totally *not* known for *any* aggression/fight/whatever, saved my life one night when my ex tried to strangle me to death.
It was the only time in her 13 years that I ever saw her ‘break bad’, even more shocking because she was terrified of him.
She’d never done it before and never did it again.
But when it counted, she was there.
Somehow, dogs often “just know”.
That’s cute. I wonder about my lab int he same way. I know he has a good mean bark. That is at least helpful.
Those Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are beautiful dogs. Actually so is the Golden. Do you have much issue with hair? My lab sheds horribly. I wasn’t expecting that from a lab, though after reading up on it I should have known.
