I hope there aren’t any Lucas electrics in those old spacecraft. No, but there were rumors that the earlier Shuttles used SU carburetors. These were proven TOTALLY false!
They were Strombergs.

Here are the Twin SU's I remember wrestling with on several Volvo's from the 60's...
Always fun in the winter when moisture formed in the chamber and FROZE in the winter in New England. You'd think a car made in Sweden would have figured that out much earlier...
