Even if Google had been around, as a newborn infant you would have lacked the manual dexterity and hand eye coordination required to execute such a search.

My mother and I walked to the sea wall (El Malecon) in Havana during the naval blockade. We could see the ships patrolling just off shore and I remember my mom praying that they would invade and free Cuba.

"I probably just slept and shat a lot."

"The more things change, the more they stay the same."
At least, for me;)

Helluva story.

My mom told me that she had wondered if I would ever have the chance to be born. And there I was, at the tail end of the crisis. They had tried for years to have another kid.

My mom was 34 at the time of my birth. Which at the time, raised a few eyebrows. You were supposed to be done with stuff like that in your twenties.

My brother is 11 years and my sister is 8 years older than me. I probably would have been built in the late 50’s. LOL

My older half brother was captured during the Bay of Pigs invasion and one of my earliest memories is sneaking him a sandwich into the prison yard where he was being held.

My mom had me put it in my shorts and I was told to tell the guards it was for my lunch if it was found. She was searched before we were allowed in but I was not. When I gave it to him in the yard I was heralded as the leader of the revolution by his fellow captives and was given piggy back rides and generally made a great fuss over my brave act.

Yes. Thank you for asking.
The captured men (Cubans who had been recruited for the CIA funded mission) were traded back to the US for money, medicines and farm equipment. He was able to arrange for our immigration to the US.
We were blessed to have been part of the ideological refuge America presented to the world during that time period. People who came here for freedom and not government cheese.
May God Bless the United States and restore her to those ideals.
