I see Trump as a reaction to O’Connell’s duplicity.
It’s been going on for years but when he promised to crush the Tea Party candidates he galvanized the grass roots.
Unlike every other candidate, he has not been bought. That is the source of his power.
As for the clown thing - I'd put his IQ as higher than 95% of those criticizing his mind, and as for delivering ... you don't succeed as he has without doing so over and over. I don't hate the guy personally, but even if I did, on those facts alone, I'd say he's the most well positioned to pull this country's head out of its collective *ss.
Thus far, traditional conservatives (myself included) have, through no lack of being 'right' and 'correct' about everything, failed and are increasing their failure rate at actually DELIVERING this country's head out of its collective *ss. A case in point is that having elected so called conservatives to congress, our head is still now an inch deeper than last November.
When your head is in your *ss for too long, even if you are exactly right about where it should be, you still have to actually pull it out, or else, as the saying goes, you are 'right .... dead right.'
I'd rather have a clown doctor perform the operation. There will be time to criticize and make fun of his manner when and if we are ever breathing healthy-ish air again.
