An earlier article on FR today posited the thesis that EPA allowed/caused the spill, to 1) move “Superfund” money its way and 2) give it the authority to further regulate and control all mining in the area.
Never let a perfectly good crisis go to waste, especially if you have had to manufacture the crisis.

Clean up costs should come out of their budgets, no additional funding should go them. This is the type of message they send to industry all the time. That should be well into a double digit reduction for a long time.

As the Environmental Protection Agency moves forward with some of the most costly regulations in history, there needs to be greater transparency about the claimed benefits from these actions. Unfortunately, President Obamanus and lesbian McCarthy have been unwilling to reveal to the American people the data they use to justify their multibillion-dollar regulatory agenda.
