You might have missed it but the Republicans had no intention of nominating anyone but Bush.
That was the strategy from the beginning. Nominate business as usual insiders to protect the party brand and their own positions.
They’re bought and paid for and will do what they’re told. And they’ve been doing this for decades.
If things stay as the are, they’ll have no choice but to nominate Trump. He’s certainly does not trust the Democrats or Republicans for obvious reasons.

No, I didn’t miss it at all and still am largely convinced that piaps and jebito will be the nominees. There is a great analysis over at conservative treehouse on the topic.
I think Donald’s real chance is via a second party bid. He’s also the honey badger of presidential nominees so there is a possibilty he’ll do it just out of spite. There are enough people on both sides of the political spectrum that are pissed off to give him a fair to middling chance of pulling it off if he chooses that strategy.
