Simple solution: move the rover as close as possible and get a better hires picture.
Doubt that will happen, because a) the picture was released a while ago before anyone noticed this, so I think the rover has already moved elsewhere, and b) NASA seems to think this is just another case of people seeing things that aren’t there, so I doubt they’ll bother to investigate.
