Of course some eagerly received Christianity. The gospel is powerful. His Word is powerful, sharper than a two-edged sword. The gospel is veiled and foolish to those who are perishing, but to the humble and hopeless sinner who thirsts, it’s the best news he could possibly hear.
In John 10:27, Christ Himself said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” His elect are scattered throughout the earth, including among native Americans. When one of His elect hears the gospel of Christ, which is “the power of God unto salvation” (Romans 1:16), he eventually believes.
“Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power...” (Psalm 110:3)
