Before going from 8.1 to 10....do I need to backup stuff in Chrome.... like bookmarks etc?

no, amazingly, it preserves all your applications and settings. My win7 was bad, now its running better.

Before going from 8.1 to 10....do I need to backup stuff in Chrome.... like bookmarks etc? Backing up all your data is always advised. If you know how to make an image of your HDD or Clone it, you should consider doing that also. I cloned my Windows 8.1 HDD so if my Win10 upgrade goes awry, I can simply re-install the original HDD with Windows 8.x on it, make another clone and try again.
