He doesn't want to get involved.

You're having a fuel problem of some sort, and it needs to be resolved. Such problems don't get better on their own.

Was there anything in your smog test that indicated one section of the engine was not working as well as the other? Some engine computers gather information that doesn't get reported easily. Your car can't really talk to you, you know.

I don’t have the money to get the problem diagnosed, so for now, I’m stuck with the problem, whatever it is.

The EGR Valve was replaced April 29, this year. It just barely passed smog at the time, and knowing that, I have plans to get a “Classic Rod” registration which is $12 a year, and no smog tests.

But again, that doesn’t solve THIS problem. Which is beginning to annoy me, not to mention disturb me at the thought that it can, and probably will, get worse if not fixed soon.
