NOAA says 88° the high here, but it’s only 83.5° right now.
That’s getting up there for this region, even in the middle of August.
The A/C is struggling to maintain 72° inside here.
It is a bit cloudy, but they’re big, white, and puffy.
We’re not holding out much hope for rain, and a lot of our lawn is
deceased, but we certainly hope that we will get some rain soon.
We don’t have sprinklers, and our lawn surrounding the house is
about one acre.
No thanks! I hung my clothes outside in VA one day at 0700 and by 1900, I brought them in, still wet. Ungh! That was when I told Igor my mother needed me in AZ!
When my sister lived in Alaska, the mama moose would bring the babies to sis’s back yard to teach them to eat leaves...on the saplings she planted...somewhere, I have a pic of some moose that “shared” lunch with her one day.
We’re lucky if the temps get down to 80 at night. This morning at 0545, it was 83 and 33%. These days, if nights cool off to 75, I need a light sweater!
I hope your landscape doesn’t suffer too much from lack of rain. The pics I have seen of it are really beautiful.
Dear Lord, I’ve seen such roving masses of stupid.
They’re all headed to Home Depot...
And trying to pick up several bags of quickrete, plywood, and various bits of lumber that they will then strap to the roof to collapse the suspension with.
They will then creep down the highway on the center line, left blinker on, twenty to thirty below the speed limit.
Yes.
Where they will derp about for thirty to forty minutes arguing with all and sundry that the robot it correct, reality and signage be damned.
They will threaten to report people to supervisors, call police, and cause damage all because they are special snowflakes and must be allowed entry or else!
I love special snowflakes.
Really, I do.
I have probably caused more irreparable harm to their psyches than anyone in history.
I decided to wash the last two loads of clothes tomorrow, and I have just barely enough detergent and bleach to do that. AND...just enough quarters.
And because I changed the sheets yesterday, and the towels, I now have enough clothes for one more load. *sigh* It just never seems to end.
It was good going to Busdaddy’s because I could lie down on the sofa between loads, and there was no rush to get it done. I will be taking two pain pills tomorrow, one when I get up and one when I start to hang the clothes. *sigh* I have no idea what I would do without the pills, now.
Three years has made a big difference in my spinal deterioration. When I see the doc on Tuesday, I will ask her if we can start work on my lower back. The neck is being helped. The back is getting worse.

Tom is calling some people about possible work tutoring kids for the SAT. Bill has decided the cats need to lose weight. He has a diet plan for them!
I admit to stealing the term from others.
If Bill were more active, he would disappear if he turned sideways.
I don’t need luck with the wash...I need luck with my body while I’m washing clothes. It gets ugly this time of year. Monsoons tear me up in a good year, but this year, it’s been really miserable.
Shannon already hates the diet.
