Gobemouche is evidence that certain unpleasant things, when cloaked in the veneer of French, can sound rather pleasant.
About the Word:
The word rolls off the tongue easily, and sounds quite lovely; however, if we look at the etymology it more or less translates to "fly gulper" (from the French gober, meaning "to swallow whole", and mouche, meaning "fly").
I tried that, but it gave me a dry mouth.

Today is Rain Day in Waynesburg. Not looking good for any rain for the festivities this year.
what festivities are we enjoying?
I haven’t personally partaken, but they always mention it on the TV weather. It’s in Greene county. A festival, parade, name a Rain Day queen, everything.
Official records have at least a touch of rain on 114 of 141 years.
