Your choice, but you are giving them the right to physically remove you and use additional force and arrest you as you continue to resist.
I am explaining what rights we do and don’t have. If you want to pretend you have a right that you actually don’t have and behave accordingly, fine. But you should not mislead others into believing they have the right to refuse to exit a vehicle. We need to know exactly what rights we have and do not have to make informed, intelligent decisions on how to behave in such situations.
Thinking she had that right was Bland’s key mistake. She told the officer he hsd no authority to order her out, but she was dead wrong.
All her attitude was perfectly legal, and refusing to put out the cigarette may have been legal, but once she refused to get out of the car, she was screwed legally.
