TROOPER: “Well, you can step out now

The now part means after she refused to put out the cigarette.

Yes, she screwed up when she became belligerent. After she showed belligerence, she was ordered to step out of the car. I don't blame the officer, since her belligerence may be an indicator she is about to do something else, and he needed to see every move she made, in full unobstructed view. Get her out of the car and observe if she has any weapons, and/or conduct a search.

Speaking of belligerence, I read some of your posts on this thread.

I'm going to have to ask you, sir or ma'am, so step away from the keyboard.

Slowly.

So you admit the sole reason for the cop to order her out was a refusal to a REQUEST to put out her cigarette.

It seems we are in agreement.

BTW..I tried looking up the charge of “belligerence” and the codified punishment in the Texas criminal code for committing “belligerence”...didnt find it...not even aggravated belligerence.

Yes, she screwed up when she became belligerent.

No, she screwed up when she wasn't properly subservient.

Officer Perp was going to make her pass small subservience tests until she either licked his boots gratefully, or he got to arrest her.

Probably for refusing to be "chatted up" by the "nice policeman"...
