When politicians give away free stuff to victim groups those groups vote for them. Benjamin Franklin said it best. When asked, “What kind of government did you give us?” He responded, “A republic, if you can keep it.”
Obviously, we did not keep it. It was not taken by force. We gave it away. We gave up our freedom for a bowl of Government “make us secure” stew.
