INDIANAPOLIS -- The city’s largest bank is closing branches on the city’s north and west sides, but some groups are crying foul.

The Chase bank at 29th and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. streets will close Aug. 20 and the branch at 38th Street and Washington Boulevard will close at the end of July.

Both branches serve heavily concentrated minority communities.

Some members of the city’s minority community have complained to members of the Indianapolis City-County Council and Congressman Andre Carson about the closures.

If I figure right, there’s four other banks within a mile or so (according to Google maps).

They absolutely could.

And people like Oprah — who engage in identify politics — are irresponsible for not doing so to benefit of their “own communities”

Regardless of what the statistics show, pointing out the link between blacks and crime is labeled as racist, even if it’s the truth. Instead of crying racist and “I’m-a-victim” every time it’s pointed out, how about directing that wasted energy towards ending the link and turning the problem around. How about Al and Jesse figuring out a solution to the problems that are internal to the black community instead of worrying about the amount of face time they get on TV. Blacks probably know where to start, but as an outsider, perhaps a starting place is with the deterioration of the black family unit. Until we see movement from within the black community to address their own internal problems, I think we’ve thrown enough public money at that problem with little in return.

Plus of course the fact that Whites don’t have to pay back their loans.

Loan Officer: Now, let me get this straight, Mr., ..uh.. Mr. White. You’d like to borrow $50,000 from our bank, but you have no collateral, you have no credit. You don’t even have any I.D. Is that correct?

Eddie Murphy: That’s right.

Loan Officer: Mr. White, I’m sorry. This is not a charity. This is a business...

White Loan Officer: Uh, Harry, why don’t you, uh, take your break now? I’ll take care of.. uh.. Mr. White.

Loan Officer: Well.. okay. Thanks, Bob. [ exits ]

White Loan Officer: [ laughs, then sits ] That was a close one, wasn’t it?

Eddie Murphy: It certainly was.

White Loan Officer: We don’t have to bother with these formalities, do we, Mr. White? Huh?

Eddie Murphy: What a silly Negro!

"It's a little difficult to have sympathy for the bean counters when second-quarter profits were over $6 billion. And it's hard when the profits for the consumer banking was over $833 million. It's hard to cry poor when you’re making those profits over a three-month period," radio talk show host Amos Brown said Friday.

Well, let's not be envious, that doesn't look good on anyone. Did Mr. Brown think that maybe part of the reason these businesses are doing so well is that, well, they make good business decisions? Like:

Chase told RTV6 that both branches had low volume and would be consolidated with the branch at 28 N. Meridian St.

Imagine that! Chase, and other businesses, are not in business to make your life easier. They are not in business to make a social statement. In broad strokes, businesses provide products and/or services. If a location isn't selling enough product or services to cover the overhead of maintaining that site, it is just good business to cut your losses.

This may come as a shock to the likes of Jesse, Al, and libtards everywhere but sometimes, people do and say things, make decisions...and it has absolutely nothing to do with race, gender, sexual orientation, etc. Gasp! Heresy! See, to a liberal, every one and every thing is labeled - the ultimate racism/genderism/sexism/ and many other -isms.

BofA has closed about 20% of their branches in the last 5 years, and is planning to close more.

At the beginning of the year, JPM Chase announced that they were closing 300 branches this year or next.

I seem to recall a story that Wells Fargo, the bank for Gays, is the only major expanding its footprint these days.

Where is the Michael Jordan savings and loan?

Or the Tawana Brawley Credit Union?

Or the Samuel L Jackson Bank and Trust?

Or the Shaq Interstate Bank?

Or the Spike Lee Community Savings?

Or the Farrakhan Islamic Fiduciary Corporation?

Or the NAACP National Bank for Black People?

38th Street is the running “Amish” joke in local Indy news comments.

Seems like half of the major crimes reported happen on that street

As soon as I read “Martin Luther King Jr. St”, I said to myself; Self, I know why that particular branch is closing.

Interesting, I do not think I have ever seen a Martin Luther King Jr. St. They seem to mostly be Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

“Stars And Bars Circle?”

Doesn’t that run off of Stephen Foster Boulevard where “My Old Kentucky Home” is now Section 8 housing?
