The trick to Eva is multiple watchings. It’s something that unveils itself over time/viewings. What looks on the surface like a generic anime kids show is a massively complex morality play.
Some people hate it and thats fine. It’s not for everyone. But IF it hooks you, you can watch the whole thing 100 times and still find new things in it.

I’d have to agree, a far as writing I’m not seeing much that would compare on this list. Maybe Knight Rider or Buck Rodgers in 25th century. The writing of Erin Grey into skin tight future outfits was brilliant.
