President Obama is in the final stages of drafting a plan to close Guantanamo Bay, confirmed White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest to reporters this afternoon.
Obama plans to present the plan to Congress in the coming days, Earnest added, calling it a priority for Obama as he prepares to leave office.
Earnest lectured that Republican members of Congress who block efforts to close the prison were on the wrong side of the debate, arguing that “closing the prison is actually in the national security interests of the United States.”

I suspect Obama’s Piece De Resistance will be handing over control of the Internet to the UN. You KNOW he will do it.........
He wants desperately to bring terrorists here to go through our court system.
Much better to release terrorists here at home in the US.
Or, at the very least, allow them to cross the Mexican border regiment by regiment.
I say let’s do it. We might as well get on with it.
Things are going to come to a head again with Islam, whether it is a week away or ten years away, it is going to happen.
I say let’s just release them back to their countries, let them get on their track for revenge against us, and the sooner we start going at it fully, the sooner we will be done with it.
I am sick to death of it.
