I’ve always lived in Texas, other than time in the Navy.

LEOs here have always approached a vehicle they have stopped on the driver’s side of the vehicle. If there are two LEOs, one of them will also go to the passenger side; especially if there are other occupants.

And I've lived in Texas all my life, except while in the USAF and with Boeing, and back in the day when I was a Texas Police Officer, I always approached from the right side, the passenger side. . .didn't want to get hit by some drunk/gawker driving by.
