The US Constitution acknowledges our "freedom of association" and therefore must also acknowledge it's corollary; The "Freedom of Dissassociation." Again, no one is arguing against your right to disassociate. The door is open if you want to leave. But you can't strip We the People of the United States of their national territory on the way out the door. Sorry.

And of course you have no cognizance of the fact that is exactly what happened to the British Union. For that matter, we recognized the right to leave by the Cubans and the Philippines, and even Puerto Rico's right to be independent.
