As a computer idiot, I am happy with the Windows 8.1 version. Why then should I upgrade? I'll give you 2 non-techy reasons:
1) Windows 10 is free
2) Windows 10 drops the Start Screen that everyone hated in Win8.

Because MS focuses security for its new OS first. One of the purposes of the new version is to lock down the OS from intruders.
