British Israelism (or Anglo-Israelism) is very speculative. It makes use of verbal resemblances and legend to maintain that the people of northwestern Europe are descended from the ten lost tribes of Israel. It was popular during the heyday of the British Empire among those who predicted the eventual worldwide hegemony of English-speaking culture. Its chief representatives today are connected with remnants of Herbert Armstrong’s Worldwide Church of God.
Interesting.
The author makes some good points regarding Judah/Israel,etc.
“It was popular during the heyday of the British Empire among those who predicted the eventual worldwide hegemony of English-speaking culture.”
I ran across that concept while doing a little research in college. The Scottish Declaration of Independence written in 1320 and signed by Scottish leaders mentions that their kingship line went unbroken back to Moses.
I read somewhere that DNA evidence disputes British Israelism. I wish I could remember where I read that, but I read so many different things.

Yes, you can see this with “Tomorrow’s World” on TV. They make a few references to HWA.
