No, DC isn’t on much of a fault line. For DC you need to focus on a tsunami coming in from the ocean.

Yeah, like when a volcano lets loose and half the Canary Islands drop into the sea and create a 1,000 ft tsunami... That should create some urban renewal

Won't happen. The only times DC floods is water coming downstream on the Potomac and occasionally with the right winds coming up from the bay. Most of the time the 180 degree turn in the lower Potomac blocks the surges. That bend in the river would definitely absorb any energy left from a tsunami.

The extinct volcanic half of the island interior is accessible by tunnels. Wonder what size nuclear demolition charge planted near the core would be sufficient to move a mountain?
