The Animated Photo montages I create demand flash until something that can match its depth comes along. The end up being out put as shockwave files..which I then place into dreamweaver created pages.

Flash player...isnt “much of a player in my game” so to speak

I can output the actual FLASH file as a movie....open as “frames” in Photoshop and the save...and use the resultant gif animation...on the html page...although an eight inch wide animation...often takes several minutes to convert

Thank you so much. Husband did both our Macs and he will tell others at work tomorrow.
Don’t know how we would have known without you!

I've got a new computer, using IE and Flash has never worked for me.

Despite the prompts to fix it, it still doesn't work.

Screw Flash.

We removed Flash from all macs in the house.

But now, at least on the laptops and desktops, Mrs. Fierro can’t watch QVC.

However QVC continues to stream on iPads and iPhones, which definitely never had Flash. What’s up with That?

Get rid of flash and you’ll be amazed how much faster and pleasant your browsing experience becomes.

If you uninstall Flash will Youtube seamlessly play in HTML5 format instead, or is there something you have to enable or select?

~sigh...

Question? Are the flash exploits (security holes?) based upon sites that are visited? Is there a difference between going to NY Times and porn4you?

Is flash vulnerable no matter what site you surf?

My answer is:

Of course it makes a huge difference, for the videos the sites choose to stream. . . however, in the past they have found Flash exploits on some pretty Casper Milquetoast sites including news sites.

The problem was that the malware was added to Flash advertising, which was often put into the Google queue. . . and that since Flash is running in the background in most browsers, it could be invoked and then the malware could use the vulnerability to invade through the exploit of the vulnerability without ever running a Flash video.

You take the risk on your own if you choose to keep it on your machine. I've read that there are more zero-day exploits for Flash than for any other single piece of software in history.

The technical explanation is that their mobil website uses HTML5 but their older, more complete website uses Flash. In the larger scheme of things, it means their IT department has it's head up its collective ass. . . because they know the problem, know how to handle it, but haven't done a damn thing about it.
