That’s the problem I have with some of the attitude around here trying to rekindle the north vs south thing....when it’s liberal vs conservative thing.
The North Virginia Battle flag is just a soft target to tie around the necks of all conservatives.
And somehow becuase I wish to support the right to fly that flag I somehow have to endorse the right of the south to secede at the same time......sorry I’m not going to refight the civil war....
This is why the squishy moderates are caving in to the liberals on the display of the NV battle flag.
This is devide and conquer 101 and many from the south and north are falling for it.
As if we really have a dog in a 150 year old fight.
You want me to fully support your right to fly the flag....no problem....I think the desecration of graves and monuments is a hienous act of treason over a well settled matter they we as modern Americans cannot change or modify and have no business trying to undo.
Amends were made and new bonds as a larger nation formed.
But when you ask me to endorse an alternative outcome to the civil war I’m gonna say no bueno...
Not permanent bonds, as it turns out.
