Word For The Day, Monday, 7/13/15

jackanapes; noun
noun 1. an impertinent, presumptuous person, especially a young man; whippersnapper.
2. an impudent, mischievous child.
3. Archaic. an ape or monkey.
Etymology: 1400-50; late Middle English Jakken-apes, literally, jack (i.e., man) of the ape, nickname of William de la Pole (1396-1450), Duke of Suffolk, whose badge was an ape's clog and chain
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

Elders in the GOP have often discounted our young Governor as a jackanapes, but Scott Walker has proven them wrong every time. He announces his candacy for President of the United States today. I wish him well, although I’m reluctant to give him up at the State level. He’s been a breath of fresh air.

A+++ hard to tell what having such a plethora of candidates will do for the GOP’s chances. I am not optimistic.

yes I have seen his posts! both of my girls adore him! btw, did you know I am recently a GRANDMA for the first time? my oldest got married last fall and had our first grandson 2 months prematurely on 5/30. He is doing great and came home from the NICU last week!
