Of course it’s an artist’s depiction - no American Flag! (I know - just kidding - that’s on Mars!)

Part of me wonders how much money they spent on this artist’s depiction. But - such a drawing can help describe the science of what they think it will look like, and get the public awareness out there to give space exploration some good PR, and raise the level of interest of our kids to study the sciences.

Looking forward in anticipation of the actual photos!

Was listening to some guy on coast-to-coast that was into astronomy. He thought this Pluto thing was cool in that it was a reminder of the unknown and basic exploration of the closer planets. Almost like going back in time. Except now it is getting the first images of Pluto, and 45(?) years ago it was getting the first images of the other side of the moon.
