To: a fool in paradise

I saw “Hard Day’s Night” and “Help” at the theater, when they came out, the Beatles live at the Hollywood Bowl in summer 1965, after seeing Dylan live in December 1964 at Wilson High School in Long Beach California.

There was so much new, interesting music coming along, that I have never gone back and analyzed it.

Last Monday night, my wife and I saw “Love & Mercy” about the life of the Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson.

Looking backward at this stuff 4 and 5 decades later, leaves a lot of room for varied portrayals and so forth.

At the time I liked some other groups better, but the Beatles have really weathered the test of time.

My favorites are the guys who last 50 years like Van Morrison, Eric Clapton, Rod Stewart, and still put out original stuff which is great.

Wow! And here I thought seeing Jimmy Reed at the Lakewood Canteen in '68 was pretty cool!
