M-80 my explosive of choice. Ah the memories of dropping them off the dock into the water and watching them explode or the old M-80 under the can trick. :-)

Modern M-80s are mostly sawdust. A friend at work about 15 years ago brought in "New Old Stock" M-80s from his dad's house... 1970s leftovers.

Holy Moses, those things were like a half the power of a modern "quarter stick of dynamite".

My brother-in-law once threw a M-80 off the loading dock at work (our family business), it landed near a empty pop can and blew it back onto the loading dock. I saw my first police officer when a neighbors kid was throwing cherry bombs in bassett creek. We saw minnows rise to the surface afterward.

I once threw a lady finger (small fire cracker compared to a blackcat) and it exploded just as it was released from my hand. My forefinger I swear doubled in size for awhile afterward. Those gunpowder fuses are erratic.

Now as I get older I like looking at the fireworks but cannot stand the noise.
